Picked rock sends USA women to 1-4

 

Cassie Johnson's last rock in the extra end picked sending the Americans to a 5-4 loss to Sweden Thursday night at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games.

2006 Nationals kick off in Superior Saturday

 

The 2006 U.S. National Championships in Superior, Wis. get underway Saturday. The first game will begin at 1 p.m.

Symons rink wins North Dakota mixed playdown

 

The Duane Symons rink qualified for the 2006 U.S. Mixed National Championship by winning the North Dakota Mixed Playdown last weekend. Symons and teammates Kelly Jordet, Chad Carlson and Val Nash will compete March 18-25 in Fairbanks, Alaska. The 10-team field is starting to take shape as playdowns continue.

 

 

Wisconsin women, Minnesota men headed to Korea

 

The Nina Spatola and Chris Plys rinks won the 2006 U.S. Junior National Championships in Duluth, Minn., on Saturday. The teams will represent the USA at the 2006 World Junior Curling Championships in Jeonju, Korea. Press release.

 

Simonson wins 2006 Senior Nationals

 

The Brian Simonson rinks defeated George Godfrey, 8-1, in the final of the 2006 U.S. Senior Men's National Championship in Medford, Wis. Final results. Simonson and his Minnesota teammates Tom Harms, John Kokotovich and Don Mohawk will represent the U.S. along with the women's team skipped by Jamie Hutchinson at the 2006 World Senior Curling Championships March 4-11 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
