First curling memories: "I got interested in the sport through my parents, who at one time ran the Duluth Curling Club. My first bed as an infant was a roasting pan in the kitchen at the curling club."

What I enjoy most about curling: "I most enjoy the social aspect of the sport, and how close the curling community is as a whole. My entire family curls. My sister, Courtney, was a bronze medalist at the 2001 Junior Nationals at the age of 14."

Other sports: Also enjoys baseball, soccer and golf. Has played in three Minnesota State baseball tournaments (pitcher and shortstop). Named second team All-Conference as a forward in his senior high school soccer season.

Something unique:  Tyler spends time with less privileged kids in the YMCA Mentor Program. He is also involved in his school's Big Brother Program.

Other favorite sports: Baseball, basketball, fitness training. I have always liked competitive sports, but curling is my favorite.
