About Tony Lasky:

Curls out of: Duluth Curling Club

Nickname: TL

What he enjoys most about curling: "I enjoy the competition in a team setting, yet as an individual you can affect the game at every position. I also enjoy the social aspect of the game."

Curling start: "I got started in curling after being asked several times by Jeff Laundergan to try it. My first year, I played broomball and curled on the same night. It was insane. I'd have a broomball game at 7 and I'd have to curl at 8 in another city. I was running around like a chicken the whole year. I liked curling so much that I hung up by broomball shoes for good after the season ended."

Favorite aspect about curling: "I enjoy the strategy of the game the most. Aggressive, defensive or a bit of both. Everyone has their own style."

Other sports: Golf, basketball, softball

Curling goals: "My goals are to stay upright while sliding out of the hack. I also hope to improve my game each year."

Curling strengths: "My strengths are being pretty even tempered and a bit of a jokester on the ice."

Hobbies: "My hobbies are watching numerous DVDs and being able to give a quick review of most movies. Lately, I've become a Texas hold 'em junkie."

Something unique: "My first year curling our men's team made it all the way to the semifinals of the league championship with two first-year curlers, a vice skip who hadn't played in five years and a very good skip. I think we snuck up on a number of teams that year."
