About Stu Cohen:

Curls out of: Columbus Curling Club

Nickname: Stu

Curling start: "I started curling at Broomstones Curling Club in Wayland, Mass., and immediately was booked by the sport and the people. Luckily for me, Broomstones offered great instruction from folks like Grayland Cousins, Dayton Neill and Bob Chick."

Curling family: "My wife started curling when I did and we shared some great times. But since we've had our three children (3 1/2 year-old and 10-month-old twins) she's had to take a sabbatical. We hope to resume when they are old enough to join the fun."

Hobbies: "I am an avid gardener and hosta collector. This year we built a fence and a stone wall to highlight the plantings. I also love to build furniture, golf, listen to music, watch movies and watch Buckeye football."

Something unusual: "I worked for five years as a psychotherapist but I burned out. Now I own Buckeye Handyman Service. I've skydived twice."

Curling strengths: "Keep it simple, hit the broom, good weight, balance and clean release."

Curling goals: "Our team helped me reach the first main goal of earning a spot at U.S. Nationals. I plan to continue pushing the envelope with competitive curling and hope to reach my full potential. Hopefully that means success at the highest level of curling."

Stu is hoping to start up the Columbus Curling Club with a demonstration clinic this winter.
