About Patti Lank:
|
Lank has always enjoyed all sports. She grew up with five brothers and one sister, so
competition started early in life. She loves the draw game. She has recorded an 8-ender (a
perfect end in curling, similar to a hole-in-one in golf). Her entire family curls;
her mother played Seniors out of Weyburn, Saskatchewan. She thanks five very competitive
brothers and a sister for helping her develop the fierce intensity she displays.
In her own words: I began curling when I was 11 years old. By age 25 I
had committed myself to becoming a world-class athlete. I chose the sport of curling
because of the patience, mental toughness and balance it requires. And the support from
curler to curler, no matter what the ability, is tremendous. I practice a minimum of 15
hours a week during mid-season. My training sessions consist of on-ice practice and
drills, cardio workouts, weight training, and swimming. I also try to eat sensibly.
Training regimen: Work out five times per week, and include swimming.
Hobbies: Landscaping
Other favorite sports:
Golf, baseball, volleyball,
billiards, family biking.
What I'd like the world to know about curling: The support from curler
to curler, no matter what the ability, is tremendous.
