Curling start: "I began my curling career at the age of 13 playing with Tim and Bud Somerville, Michael and Bill Strum, and later with my father, John Gordon."
Other sports: Basketball, soccer, football, hiking, camping and traveling
Career goals: "Stay with U.S. Forest Service for a while, and built a modest home somewhere out in the woods."
Favorites: "Staying active, eating, watching the Green Bay Packers, and especially, my wife."
Can't live without: "My wife, family and sports."
In his own words: "Curling is about precision and finesse, the biggest, smallest, youngest and oldest people can enjoy and actually do well in the sport. It is a lot like chess because of the strategy and technique that is put into every shot and move."
Training: "I walk/run five miles every other day, weightlift every other day and play basketball four to five times a week and 100 pushups a day."
