Training: "I work very hard at training in the off-season including weightlifting, jogging and cycling. I pride myself in my powerful sweeping, which is a direct result of my regimented training schedule. During the winter I can often be found at 6, 7, 8 a.m. in the morning practicing curling with Wes (our skip)."
Curling family: "Curling has always been a big part of the Romaniuk family. During family events, like Thanksgiving, my dad would always break out the magnetic curling board and diagram a scenario for the family to discuss. Coming from a family of four boys, I always found it interesting that during these discussions our youngest brother, Greg, often had his opinion overshadowed by his three loud older brothers. But he'd always sit back and quietly listen. Now you can't get the guy to stop talking about strategy. My theory is that this is due to years of pent up resentment from family dinners."
Long-term goals: "My long-term goals are to return to Hawaii, where I lived for three years, and build a curling club. Wouldn't life be great if you could surf all day and curl all night?"
