About Kris Perkovich:

How I got started in curling: "I got started in curling by giving up hockey. I was too small for hockey, but never too small for curling. My coach put me in the hack, and I never looked back."

What I enjoy about curling: "Helping my team play well, meeting different people, and drawing "the pin" for the win. "

Curling family: "My entire family curls, except my mom, but she keeps me mentally prepared for all games and takes care of my pre-game meal."

Other sports I enjoy: Karate (black belt), tae kwon do (black belt), kayaking, soccer, rugby, slow-pitch softball, cricket

Curling goals: "My goal in curling is to be the next Kevin Martin. I'm half-way there. If I can't be of the Martin mold, then I would be happy to match the talents of Bruce Roberts, "Electric" Ed Lukowich, Bud Somerville, Russ Howard or Al Hackner. I want to skip my team to the Worlds."

Nicknames: Cocky Rocky, Heater

Training regimen: Pumping iron, swimming, hack exercises, jogging and running marathons.

Curling strength: "My strength in curling is strategy, making cross-sheet doubles, and throwing the high heater."

Something unique: "I love cooking more than curling. I can cook really good Italian meals."
