First curling
memories: "I attended the Women’s World Championships in
Obertsdorf ,Germany to watch my mother’s team (1994). There I set my goal to
one day be competing in a World Championship."
Training: "Without curling ice in Colorado, I have traveled every other weekend from October through March, to Madison, Wis. and Canada for time on the ice with my teammates."
Other favorite sports: Soccer, skiing and weight lifting.
Education: Kirsten attends Aurora Community College in Colorado. She takes the majority of her classes over the Internet, which allows for a flexible schedule for schoolwork and training. She is majoring in Health Management and Fitness.
Something unique: Kirsten's mother, Pam, is a three-time U.S. National Champion.
Curling goals: "As a team, we intend to compete in Utica, N.Y. at the 2001 National Qualifier for the 2002 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling. Competing in the Olympics is an aspiration that I hope to achieve someday."
