Curling start: "I was introduced to curling by a co-worker while working at The Dow Chemical Company in 1986."

 

Favorite aspect of curling: "I love the competition and the challenge of making tough shots."

 

Curling goals: "Compete hard, give 100 percent, encourage my teammates and successes will come -- hopefully in a national championship."

 

Major achievements not related to curling: Holder of four U.S. patents in polymer chemistry.

 

Hobbies: Duck hunting, deer hunting, fishing, collector of Michigan logging antiques and logmarks

 

Favorite place to travel: Northern Michigan, especially Sault St. Marie and Mackinaw City.

 

Something unique: "I won a Toyota Corolla by shooting a hockey puck through a 5-inch hole from center ice at the intermission of a Saginaw Gears (IHL) hockey game."
