PERSONAL FILE
Curls out of: Centerville Curling Club
Nickname: Kate
Curling start: "My mother curled when I was about 6 years old, and I always went down to the club and pushed all the rocks all over the place. Plus, when no one was looking I had someone push me when I was riding the rocks. After that I didn't start playing until I was about 14."
What she enjoys most about curling: "I love that you meet people from all over the States and Canada. Plus, just being able to be on the ice practicing for hours trying my best to get better. But, the best part is when you have to draw to the button to win a state game or national game. That feels cool."
Other sports: Swimming, walking, biking
Curling goals: "My one main goal in curling is to go to the world championships and do the best that I can do. Plus, my other goal is to try my hardest to make all my shots during every game I play and during practice."
Travel: Katie has been to Boston, New York, Las Vegas, Florida, Alaska, Canada and the states surrounding Wisconsin. She would love to travel to Germany.
