PERSONAL FILE

Club: Utica Curling Club

Curling start: "As a teen I would watch curling on TV but never knew it existed in our area. It wasn't until 1990, one day while I was working in the salon two women were talking about curling and so I asked them about it. That's when I learned about the Utica Curling Club. I stated that October and loved it from the moment I stepped on the ice."

What she enjoys most about curling: "There's so much I enjoy about curling. Figuring out strategy. All ages can curl. The friendships made. But I especially like being part of a team and competing. I like when it takes all four players to make the shot that's called. Also, curling has given me the opportunity to travel to different places throughout the U.S. and Canada and to meet so many nice people along the way."

Family members: "I am happy to say that my husband started curling four years ago and enjoys it too. We have a fun time curling together."

Curling goals: "I would love to win a national title with my teammates that I enjoy curling with. And who hasn't dreamt about being in the Olympics?"

Training regimen: "Between leagues and practicing, I'm on the ice four to five times a week. Off the ice, we have cardio and weight machines at home that I use. And when our weather gets nicer my husband and I also walk in the morning."

Hobbies: Boating, fishing

Something unique: "I curl on ice, I curl with weights and I curl hair."
