CURLING HIGHLIGHTS

PERSONAL FILE

Curls out of: Utica Curling Club

Nickname: Liz

Curling start: "I first got started in curling through my step-mom. I went down to the club with my brothers and my father as a way to get to break the ice with this new person that was going to be in my life. My father and I continue to curl along with my step-mom and it's a great thing to do as a family."

What she loves about curling: "I love being in the hack and knowing that this next shot is all up to me and feeling the pressure to make it happen. But I also love the amazing teamwork that it takes to make that shot perfect. There is nothing better than a perfectly swept rock to win the game. There is an immediate feeling of satisfaction knowing that you helped make something great."

Training regimen: "As a training regimen I spend personal and team time on the ice as well as off ice training. I shoot 60-80 rocks about four times a week as well as a weekly team practice. I play in league three times a week. I work out at the gym doing cardio and weights about four times a week.

Curling strengths: "My strengths are my ability to remain consistent and focused during the game. I'm a good sweeper and I easily adapt to playing different positions. I am dedicated to doing my best at all times."

Hobbies: "Reading, hanging with friends, watching movies and doing things outdoors. I love to travel and see new places. Curling has allowed me to have amazing experiences and meet people from all over the country that have become important parts of my life."

In her own words: "Jewelry always catches my eye. So my goal is to have some more gold around my neck. A USA, World and Olympic one will do the trick."
