About Dennis Jorgensen:

Curls out of: Curl Mesabi, Eveleth, Minnesota

Other sports: "I began golfing eight or nine years ago and find it to be the most challenging sport that I have ever tried. Maybe lessons would help."

Nicknames: Jorgy, Jorg, Hog

Hobbies: "Fishing at our “cottage” in Ontario, and whitetail deer hunting are two of my other passions. I consider myself to be an excellent woodsman and have tracked/trailed quite a few large bucks to successful conclusion. I began golfing around eight or nine years ago and find it to be the most challenging sport that I have ever tried. Maybe lessons would help!"

Curling start: "I became attracted to curling in 1975/76.  My brother-in-law, Gary Carlson, played on one of the better area teams during these years.  I remember watching his team play in the finals of the Eveleth Spring Spiel and also watching the front end of a team from Winnipeg (Heirich?) awe the audience with their sweeping prowess.  Their power and grace were remarkable!  I also loved to watch the Bruce Robert rink from Hibbing play and thought that the game was something I would like to get involved with. I have been committed to competitive curling and helping grow the sport in our area for many years.  I have served as a board member of local curling clubs for many of the past twenty five years and have represented our club(s) at the state association.  In addition, I was a co-chair of the 2002 United States Men’s and Women’s National Championships held at Curl Mesabi.  In 2007, Curl Mesabi will host the World Junior Championships; I am serving as the financial chair for this event."
