Curling start: "A Canadian friend introduced me to the sport of
curling. I was very skeptical at first because I had never participated in any
winter sports. I hated being cold and in a position where I was unsteady on my
feet. During my initial training clinic, we played a mini game and I fell, hit
my head and broke my glasses. I ran off the ice, taped up my glasses with duct
tape and went right back out on the ice for more curling. I couldn't get a stone
even close to where the skip was calling but it didn't matter -- I was hooked.
There was something about the sport that excited and energized me. I've never
looked back and only wish I had discovered curling sooner. Now I cannot wait for
winter to arrive and curling season to begin."
