Curls out of: Grand Forks Curling Club
Curling start: "I started curling because my friends were and I wanted
something to do on Tuesday nights."
What she enjoys most about curling: "What I enjoy most about
curling is that it is a finesse sport. Anybody can be good at if you practice. I
also enjoy the social aspect that comes with playing curling."
Other sports: "I enjoy staying active in athletics. I play
volleyball, basketball, and hockey in the winter along with curling. In the
summer, I play softball and golf."
Curling goals: "Until last year, I really didn't have any goals other
than to have fun and socialize at league. After a group of ladies from our
club started competing at the state and national championships, I started
to think that I would like to compete at a competitive level, too. Now that I
have accomplished that, I guess my new goal would be to win a national
championship."
Strengths: "I think that my biggest strength is that I have
picked up the game of curling quickly. Not just the physical aspect, but the
strategy of the game as well which is probably just as important. I was
fortunate enough my first year to play in league with three younger girls that
had played in both state and national junior level championships. So, although
this might not only be my sixth year of curling, I feel like I've been playing
forever."
Hobbies: "I enjoy anything that has to do with sports. I love to
play, coach and watch any type of sport. I also enjoy playing different card
games with my family and hanging out with friends."
