USCA Championships

CERTIFICATIONS STANDARDS

  LEVEL I: TIMERS AND RECORD KEEPERS

 

Technical:

 

1.                  Attend the USCA Level I officiating course.

 

2.                  Take the written Level I exam on rules and procedures (passing grade 70%).

 

Upon completion of the technical requirements an on-ice observer will receive an acknowledgement letter indicating registration in the officiating program and a USCA patch and officials bar.

 

  Practical:

  1. Work as a timer at least three (3) draw at a district, state, regional or national level under the supervision of certified Level II, III or IV  officials.

  2. Supervisors will evaluate candidate and indicate on the experience record the candidates  proficiency.

  3. Submit practical experience records, signed by head umpires or Bonspiel chairmen for credit towards certification.  Credit will be given for observing and timing at local bonspiels if permission of the local bonspiel chairman is received in advance and supervision is under certified Level II official.

Certification: Upon completion of the technical and practical requirements an on-ice observer/timer will receive a Certified Level I Official bar and will be eligible for certification as a Level II official.
